MERADONG, July 10: The communities here who have often suffered from inconveniences of water disruption will definitely benefit from the Nam Kiew water booster pump station and high-level water tank which have been completed.
Meradong assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hing reported that while these two infrastructures are ready, the construction of KJD Bintangor water booster pump station is still ongoing and expected to be completed in September later.
“Now we are still waiting for the piping installation from the junction to the two booster pumps to supply water to the high-level tank.
“Once completed, I hope that the low water pressure problem in Meradong District can be resolved,” he told Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) when met at the project sites yesterday.
Later, Ding also visited the vaccination centre (PPV) at Bintangor community hall to ensure the smooth running of the immunisation drive for about 600 people who were receiving their second dose of vaccine.
He urged all residents in Meradong who may have been left out or have not registered for vaccination to sign up with community leaders in their respective areas.
“I hope all strata of our community can receive their vaccine jabs as soon as possible to protect themselves and reduce the risks of being infected with Covid-19,” he added.— DayakDaily
