KUCHING, April 21: MCC will increase enforcement to check on SOP compliance at public places and business premises after 10pm.

Miri City Council (MCC) in a press statement today said its enforcement personnel will also be on duty to ensure business activities cease after 10pm as per SOPs.

Stopping business activities after 10pm in Miri is part of the standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) recently to curb the transmission of Covid-19.

During recent operations, MCC enforcement officers found that some business operators in Miri had disregarded the requirement to close business premises after 10pm.

At the same time, the council’s enforcement team had also issued four compound notices to traders at Taman Tunku for trading without valid permits.

MCC stressed that all activities operating without approval from MCC or SDMC are required to stop.

In the meantime, the council urged all business operators to give their full cooperation and adhere strictly to the enhanced SOP for their safety as well as the safety of others. — DayakDaily
