MCC obtains 5-star rating in federal assessment, ranks second best in Sarawak after MPP

MIRI, March 27: Miri City Council (MCC) obtained a five-star rating in Malaysia Local Authorities Assessment, positioned in 43rd place with a score of 94.58 points.

According to MCC Mayor Adam Yii Siew Sang, the council ranked second among Sarawak’s local authorities in connection with the assessment conducted by Federal Ministry of Local Government and Housing Malaysia for the year 2022.

“From the recent result released by the aforesaid ministry, Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) from Sarawak also secured five-star rating positioning at the 31st spot for having scored 95.69 points. (It is) the top council amongst all the local authorities in Sarawak.


“Currently, there are 153 local authorities in Malaysia of which 19 are city councils, 42 municipal councils, and 92 district councils,” Yii said in a statement after chairing the MCC Ordinary Meeting at Miri City Hall’s Chamber today.

Yii congratulated MCC’s senior management personnel and all staff and encouraged all to continue working even harder so as to attain an even higher and more commendable status. – DayakDaily
