KUCHING, July 2: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) will be organising the 2022 Mayor’s Walk around Kuching South probably by the end of August.

MBKS mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng said they are targeting about 10,000 participants in the event where the crowd will have a morning walk with him while cleaning up the streets.

“I will bring everybody around Kuching South, and at the same time pick up trash along the way.

“I hope everybody will support and participate in the morning walk with me,” he said in his ShallWeeTalk Facebook livestream from Miri today.

Wee added that further information including the participation methods will be revealed on social media and via the media in due time.

Mayor’s Walk is an annual movement by MBKS since 2017 as part of the Kuching Festival’s activities which also serves to promote a healthy lifestyle and environmental awareness.

In 2020 and 2021, the event was not organised due to the Covid-19 movement restrictions. — DayakDaily
