KUCHING, Oct 8: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) will be conducting random Covid-19 tests on hawkers under its jurisdiction weekly in conjunction with the Covid-19 Awareness Campaign.

MBKS mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng said the campaign, which is jointly organised by MBKS and Kuching South Hawkers and Traders Association, aims to inculcate habits of conducting Covid-19 self-tests among the hawkers.

“MBKS will arrange for weekly random tests on the hawkers of various trades under its jurisdiction,” he said in a statement today.

On the same note, Wee also conveyed his gratitude to the hawkers for their cooperation and reminded them to cultivate a self-testing culture as precautionary measures to safeguard themselves and others.

“I hope the campaign will help raise awareness in assimilating to the new norm, and at the same time, highlight the importance of self-discipline,” he added. — DayakDaily
