MBKS sends food aid to SMK Tabuan Jaya undergoing Covid-19 lockdown

KUCHING, April 30: SMK Tabuan Jaya that is currently under lockdown after 14 Covid-19 cases were detected there has received food aid from Kuching South City Council (MBKS) today.

MBKS mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng was there to hand over the food aid to the school, saying he hoped that it would be sufficient to supplement the 191 dormitory students’ currently undergoing quarantine there.

He said the food aid consist of instant noodles, canned drinks, biscuits, 3 in 1 instant drinks and snacks.


Other than that, the Council also provided face masks and sanitisers to the school which would be later distributed to the students.

“During this pandemic, the Council will assist within its capability to ensure that the residents in Kuching South are well taken care of.

“Dato Wee also informed the school to contact the Council if they need further assistance,” said MBKS in a statement today.

Together with Wee during the food aid handover were MBKS Zone 4 chairman Cr Iskandar Sharkawi and Tay Motor Sdn Bhd managing director Aaron Tay.

Meanwhile, SMK Tabuan Jaya principal Edward Ngelai took the opportunity to thank MBKS for its generosity towards the school and its students. — DayakDaily
