KUCHING, Jan 30: The much-anticipated Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Ramadan Bazaar will be held from March 12 through April 9, 2024, during the holy month of Ramadan.

MBKS mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng stated that interested vendors can begin submitting applications today (Jan 30) until the deadline on Feb 13, ensuring that there would be a fair and transparent selection process.

“A total of 160 stalls will be made available, offering a diverse array of culinary delights to satisfy every palate. The allocation includes 24 stalls for drinks, 60 stalls for cooked food, 54 stalls for cakes, and 22 stalls for BBQ.

“A briefing session and balloting will be held on Monday, March 4, at the MBKS Auditorium, providing vendors with essential information and ensuring equitable stall allocation.

“The permit fee for each stall is set at RM250, with a refundable security deposit of RM100, mirroring the arrangements from previous years,” he told reporters during a press conference held today at MBKS headquarters here.

He went on to say that this year’s bazaar will once again be held in the bustling Stutong Community Market parking lot, which is a convenient location for customers.

Wee also portrayed the MBKS Ramadan Bazaar as a vibrant showcase of Kuching South’s cultural heritage and community camaraderie, offering a diverse range of traditional Malay delicacies and mouth-watering BBQ choices.

The council also thanked all participants, sponsors, and supporters for their contributions to making the MBKS Ramadan Bazaar a huge success. — DayakDaily
