KUCHING, April 28: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng has urged councillors, department heads, and staff to uphold unity, open communication, and teamwork to better serve the people of Kuching.
Speaking during MBKS’s Ramah Tamah Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration at the MBKS foyer here today, Wee said it was heartening to see councillors and staff come together in the spirit of harmony on the last day of Syawal, reflecting the values of patience, gratitude, and unity that Hari Raya celebrates.
“This celebration is the true reflection of the unity that we want to continuously build and strengthen within our city administration,” he said.
During the event, Wee also officially welcomed and introduced Ita Ling as MBKS’s new city secretary, after a long period of the post being filled in an acting capacity.
The mayor encouraged all councillors, heads of department, and staff to support one another, communicate openly, and collaborate effectively to continue advancing the city.
“This Hari Raya celebration is not just a festivity, it is a reminder of the importance of unity, understanding, and mutual respect. Let us carry this spirit throughout our daily work and beyond,” he said.
Wee concluded by wishing everyone Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf Zahir dan Batin, expressing hope that MBKS would continue to grow stronger together as one team and one family.
