MBKS mayor brings festive cheer to Mental Health Association residents

KUCHING, Feb 19: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng brightened the day of residents at the Mental Health Association Sarawak (MHAS) Kuching Branch Half-way Home this morning, spreading festive cheer and warm wishes.

Joined by MBKS councillor Aaron Tay, Wee mingled with residents, handed out angpows (red packets) and shared a simple yet hearty lunch of chicken, vegetables, rice and keropok.

“Festive occasions should be moments of joy and togetherness for everyone. No one should be left behind during the festive season,” he said in a press release.

Having served as an advisor to the Association for 27 years, Wee highlighted the importance of social inclusion and engagement in boosting confidence, dignity and emotional well-being among residents.

He also praised the committee, staff, and volunteers for their tireless work in creating a safe, supportive environment. – DayakDaily
