KUCHING, July 15: More than 70 members of the public have received assistance with their applications for the Subsidised Diesel Control System (SKDS) during the first day of a temporary registration counter jointly organised by Kuching South City Council (MBKS) and the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Sarawak.
The temporary counter was set up at the MBKS headquarters in Jalan Padungan, today following numerous enquiries from residents seeking guidance on the SKDS application process.
MBKS Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng, who visited the counter this morning, said the encouraging response demonstrated the importance of providing accessible and people-friendly government services.
“We have received many enquiries from the public regarding SKDS applications. Through this collaboration with KPDN Sarawak, MBKS is able to provide a convenient location where eligible applicants can obtain guidance and complete their applications more easily.
“We are pleased that more than 70 applicants have already been assisted today,” he said.
Wee said the initiative reflected MBKS’ continuous efforts to bring government services closer to the community and assist residents in navigating important application procedures.
“Our priority has always been to find practical ways to serve the community. By working together with KPDN Sarawak, we hope to save applicants time, reduce inconvenience and ensure that those who are eligible receive the assistance they need,” he added.
The temporary SKDS registration counter will operate tomorrow (July 16) and members of the public who have yet to register for SKDS and require assistance are encouraged to visit the counter from 9am to 3pm.
Applicants are advised to bring along all required supporting documents to ensure a smooth and efficient registration process.
MBKS said it would continue collaborating with relevant government agencies to enhance service delivery and ensure essential public services remain accessible, efficient and beneficial to the community. — DayakDaily
