MBKS gets five-star rating in Local Authorities Star Rating System

KUCHING, March 12: It was a source of pride for Kuching South City Council (MBKS) after it was awarded a five-star rating in the Local Authorities Star Rating System (SPB-PBT) during the Local Authorities Convention 2023 in Ipoh, Perak today.

According to a statement, the Local Authorities Star Rating System (SPB-PBT), is conducted once every two years to evaluate local authorities on criteria such as good governance, core services, customer management, as well as community participation and resident views.

According to MBKS mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng, the council had scored well in each of the assessments for the four categories.


He thanked Deputy Premier Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian who is the Sarawak minister in charge of local government, for his trust and support and the Kuching South community for their understanding and cooperation that enabled the council to achieve its objective.

Wee also thanked MBKS staff for their hard work in carrying out their duties.

“I hope that the staff will continue with their dedication and believe that with their skills and knowledge, they can make MBKS standards in serving the people in their jurisdiction even better, providing satisfaction for the services rendered, and portray the good image of the government,” he said. — DayakDaily
