KUCHING, Jan 31: The Kuching South City Council (MBKS) has extended the 50 per cent discount for overdue parking compounds, giving vehicle owners until March to settle their outstanding fines before the council initiates legal action.
MBKS Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng said the council will be sending out letters of demand to owners of compounds for public parking violations that remain unpaid.
“We are giving vehicle owners two months to settle their dues and take advantage of the 50 per cent discount,” he announced during his ShallWeeTalk live session today.
The discount will be applicable until March, coinciding with the Chinese New Year period. Vehicle owners can check the amount they owe by using their license plate at MBKS counters or online platforms.
Wee urged members of the public to pay their overdue compounds promptly to avoid facing legal measures.
“This is an opportunity for everyone to clear their fines before we formally take legal action,” he warned. — DayakDaily
