KUCHING, April 21: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) is giving out 500 packs of ‘bubur lambuk’ in conjunction with the month of Ramadan at the Stutong Ramadan bazaar today.

MBKS mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng said two batches of 500 packs would also be distributed to the community at Kampung Tabuan Hilir and also at Masjid Darul Akhirat along Jalan Lumba Kuda respectively.

“The distribution will be done in three batches, 500 each, so the total is 1,500 (packages). There will also be some donations to the mosque and less fortunate families,” he said after launching the ‘bubur lambuk’ distribution event.

Meanwhile, MBKS deputy mayor Hilmi Othman said in previous years, a big gathering together with the recipients of donations would be organised.

This year, however, he said, only some of the 150 recipients would be invited to receive the donations while the rest of the contributions would be given to the respective Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) to be distributed. — DayakDaily
