KUCHING, Aug 14: The Mayor’s Walk 2026, originally scheduled for Sunday (Aug 16) at 6am, has been postponed to a later date due to the current haze conditions affecting Kuching, the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) announced today.

MBKS said the decision was made in the interest of the health and safety of all participants, volunteers, officials and members of the public, particularly in view of the prevailing air quality.

“The new date for Mayor’s Walk 2026 will be announced in due course,” the council said in a statement issued today.

Participants who have already collected their official Mayor’s Walk 2026 T-shirts have been advised to keep them, as they will be required to wear the T-shirts during the event on the rescheduled date.

MBKS also apologised for any inconvenience caused by the postponement and expressed its appreciation to all registered participants, sponsors, partners and members of the public for their understanding and continued support. — DayakDaily
