MIRI, Feb 28: Miri mayor Adam Yii Siew Sang views Scoot’s (a low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines) maiden flight to Miri on February 23 as timely.

“The economy, especially the tourism-related industries, will benefit from this as we are now entering the fourth stage of the National Recovery Plan (NRP),” he said today.

With the aircraft’s arrival on February 23, Scoot will be providing twice-a-week direct passenger air service between Singapore and Miri.

Likewise, many countries are also opening their borders to visitors and allowing their citizens to travel aboard, Yii added during today’s council meeting.

Yii expressed his appreciation to all sectors for their efforts and success in securing new connectivity from Miri to another destination in addition to Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Kota Kinabalu and Labuan. — DayakDaily
