Matang Jaya Police Station expected to be completed by May 2027

KUCHING, Aug 5: The upcoming construction of a new police station in Matang Jaya, Padawan, located approximately 5.1km from the Emart Matang roundabout, is set to become a key component in bolstering public safety for the local community.

The Public Works Department (JKR) Sarawak, in a post shared on its Facebook page, announced that the Matang Jaya Police Station project is expected to be completed by May 6, 2027, and will offer fully integrated facilities for law enforcement operations and community needs.

The scope of the project involves the construction of a D-Class Police Station (Balai Polis D), Class E and Class F Police Quarters, a Genset House, an Evidence Storage facility (Stor Barang Kes), a Task Force Vehicle Garage (Garaj Kenderaan Pasukan), and a Guard House.

Once completed, this facility is envisioned to enhance the operational readiness of the police force while improving overall public security infrastructure in Matang and its surrounding areas. — DayakDaily
