KUCHING, Nov 9: Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) president Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing today described the State’s Budget for 2021 as the most comprehensive and inclusive he has ever heard in his 37 years of experience as a State assemblyman.
“Sarawak Budget of 2021 is the most well thought, comprehensive and inclusive budget, apart from being one of the biggest I ever heard in this Chamber in my 37 years in the House.
“It touches on the rural areas infrastructural needs, thus allowing them to develop their land holdings and also gives substantial allocation to the needs of urban communities below 40 category regardless of politics and ethnicity,” Masing said in support of the State Budget 2021 tabled by Chief Minister Datuk Pattingi Abang Johari Tun Openg at the State Legislative Assembly sitting today.
Additionally, Masing who is also Minister of Infrastructure and Port Development said Sarawak also assisted the federal government in education matters with extra allocation for it.
“The need to develop human resources is not being left out. Substantial allocation is given to our educational needs to drive our development proposals. Even though Putrajaya should be responsible for the education of Sarawak, but GPS (Gabungan Parti Sarawak) puts in some fund to assist our educational needs.
“This is to show that human development is the brain which drives us forward to 2030,” added Masing, who has been Baleh assemblyman since 1983. — DayakDaily
