KUCHING, Sept 28: Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing is suffering from Covid-19 Category 3 symptoms such as fever, cough, loss of appetite and excessive fluid in lungs but he is coping.

“To all those concerned, I have symptoms of fever, cough, loss of appetite and water in my lungs (Category 3) but I am coping.

“As I lay on my ICU (intensive care unit) hospital bed in SGH (Sarawak General Hospital), Kuching, trying to recover from Covid-19 attack, I thought that after two full doses of vaccine, I will be safe from Covid-19 attack. But I am not safe! I just hope the severity will not be there. Only time will tell.

“If I am free from Covid-19’s disastrous impact, the vaccine is indeed the tool to fight Covid-19. I would advise those who haven’t been vaccinated to do so ASAP. You must take the Covid-19 pandemic very seriously,” said Masing who is also Infrastructure and Port Development Minister in a social media posting an hour ago.

Masing was hospitalised at SGH after testing positive for Covid-19. He confirmed his admission to the hospital through a WhatsApp message to DayakDaily this afternoon. — DayakDaily
