KUCHING, Mar 6: Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) holds that Pakatan Harapan (PH) MPs who have been appointed positions in government linked companies (GLCs) should resign.
Its president Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing refuted the call of Democratic Action Party (DAP) MP Tan Kok Wai for PH MPs to stay put in their positions in GLC.
“Tan, the Cheras MP, had advised PH MPs not to quit their positions in GLCs because they are legitimately elected government.
“All the current lawmakers in Perikatan Nasional are legitimately elected lawmakers. As such, any government they formed, in any formulation, is a legitimate one.
“Such freedom of movement, or coalition of any form or guises among our lawmakers is permissible in our constitution,” argued Masing who is also Deputy Chief Minister.
He said in this matter, PH should go back to the fundamentals where in the coalition’s 14th General Election manifesto, PH promised no political appointment to GLCs for their lawmakers.
“Why some question their (PH MPs) presence in GLCs is because in their GE14 manifesto, no lawmakers are supposed to be appointed to GLCs.
“By appointing YBs into GLC, PH broke their promises to the voters of Malaysia,” said Masing. —DayakDaily
