“My initial focus will be to fully understand the role and needs of the ministry, while supporting ongoing efforts in youth and sports development, particularly at the grassroots level.

“As a member of Parliament, I am mindful of my limitations and the need to continue learning. My experience as an elected representative, especially in rural constituencies, will serve as a guide in contributing progressively and in line with on-the-ground realities,” he said.

He also gave his reassurance that he will continue to carry out his responsibilities as Mas Gading MP with full commitment.

“Serving the people and advocating for the development needs of the local community will remain a priority, in keeping with my role as a parliamentary representative,” he said.

Mordi’s appointment followed a Cabinet reshuffle, which was announced earlier today. — DayakDaily
