KUCHING, July 3: Samarahan and Santubong residents will be able to access Maraliner stage and express bus services starting this month.
In disclosing this, Deputy Prime Minister Dato Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is also Minister for Rural and Regional Development (KKDW), said the pilot project which is undertaken by a subsidiary company under Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara), will be a gamechanger that will provide social benefits to the local community as a whole.
“Although this stage bus service does not provide profit to the company but it has social impact to the community, especially areas that are not covered by express buses.
“However it will be compensated by the income of the express bus services and this is a long-term plan,” he told reporters during a press conference after a KKDW Coordination Meeting with the Sarawak government at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here today.
