KUCHING, July 19: A 37-year-old man was found dead beside his boat at Kampung Sebuluh Cina in Lundu today.
According to a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 3.16pm, and firefighters from the Lundu station were deployed.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the victim lying unconscious near his boat. Ministry of Health (MOH) personnel later confirmed that he had died at the scene.
Firefighters placed the victim on a stretcher and transported the body to a nearby family residence before handing it over to the police for further investigation.
The victim’s mother told authorities that she had returned home from the market at around 8am and discovered that her son was not at home. She later went to Bau before learning that he had been found by a member of the public lying beside his boat with foam around his mouth.
She also informed responders that the victim, identified as Chang Han Yong, had suffered from epilepsy since he was 17 years old. — DayakDaily
