Man suspected to be high on drugs bites off policeman’s fingertip during scuffle

KUCHING, April 20: A man who was believed to be under the influence of drugs bit off the tip of a policeman’s ring finger during a struggle at the Sungai Besi police station, Kuala Lumpur on April 17.

Quoting Cheras district police chief ACP Zam Halim Jamaluddin, Bernama reported that the incident occurred at 10.15 pm.

On April 17, the 34-year-old suspect had gone to the guard post at the police station and threatened to splash acid.


The suspect acted aggressively and splashed water on the body and face of a policeman on duty, before dashing into the station.

Three policemen including the victim, attempted to halt the suspect. The victim lost his fingertip during the scuffle.

The suspect was finally apprehended and later tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.

Zam Halim revealed that the suspect underwent psychiatric treatment in 2000 and has been remanded until April 21. — DayakDaily
