KUCHING, Jan 25: A man was slightly burn on the arm, while two others escaped unharmed after a fire broke out at their at Stutong Baru.
The state Fire and Rescue operation centre said seven firefighters from the Tabuan Jaya fire station and 13 from Padungan were deployed upon receiving a distress call at 11.06am.
“The operation commander, upon their arrival at the location, said the fire had already destroyed 50 per cent of the kitchen area of the double storey house.
“During the incident, three of the occupants managed to get out of the burning house but one of them reported that he had a headache and was slightly burned in the arm,” the statement continued.
The two other victims were reported unharmed, while the injured victim was given medical treatment by the agency’s Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) at the location, before being sent to the hospital.
It was understood that the house, used as a used-item collection centre, was 70 per cent damaged. Total lost is still under investigation. — DayakDaily
