Man reported missing in Kanowit found dead by family member

KUCHING, Apr 7: A 51-year-old man was found dead after he was reported missing when he failed to return home after leaving his longhouse at Rumah Barnabas Lindang, Rantau Dilang, in Kanowit on Monday (Apr 6).

The victim, identified as Alam Entri, was found by a family member at 3.28pm along a plantation path different from the route leading to the victim’s farm, and initial checks found the victim to be unresponsive.

At 4.40pm, medical personnel from the Nanga Tada Health Clinic arrived to examine the victim and declared him dead at 5pm before handing the body over to the police.

Based on the chronology of events, at about 8am on Monday, the victim was believed to have left with two dogs and headed towards the farm located about 2km behind the longhouse.

At 11am on the same day, longhouse residents noticed that the two dogs had returned without the victim, which prompted a search.

Bomba noted that a call on the incident was received at 11.27am today, and firefighters from the Kanowit station were deployed. — DayakDaily
