KUCHING, Sept 28: A man who allegedly intentionally broke the side mirror of a car driven by a woman, first with his hand and later with a kitchen knife, was remanded for four days by the Kuching Magistrates Court yesterday.

Magistrate Zubaidah Sharkawi allowed the application by the police.

The incident happened on Wednesday near 7th Mile in Kuching, at around 10.50am.

The victim said while she was driving on the road near 7th Mile, the suspect’s car suddenly overtook her car to avoid a police roadblock. She then honked the suspect’s car.

This led to the suspect breaking the victim’s car side mirror with his bare hand at first, before taking a kitchen knife from his car and continuing to break her car’s side mirror. The victim suffered injuries to her hand and face as a result of the broken mirror.

The suspect was arrested by police on Wednesday night. — DayakDaily
