Man remanded for allegedly raping stepdaughter, 11

KUCHING, Aug 6: A 41-year-old man from Bintangor was arrested by the Kota Samarahan police for allegedly raping his 11-year-old stepdaughter on multiple occasions.

According to Kota Samarahan police chief DSP Sudirman Kram in a statement, the suspect who is a factory worker, was arrested yesterday morning (Aug 5), after a police report was made by the victim’s aunt at the Kota Samarahan police station on Aug 4, after the victim claimed she was raped by her stepfather while at their home in Petra Jaya.

“The first and second time it happened was inside a bedroom of a workers’ quarters at 9th Mile, Kota Samarahan, follow by three more occasions inside a car, around the same area.

“The last time it occurred was on Hari Raya Aidilfitri this year, when the victim, who was staying with her grandmother in Petra Jaya, Kuching, but occasionally also staying with her mother and stepfather, which during that time, she was raped by the stepfather,” he added.

Sudirman revealed the case is being investigated under Section 376B of the Penal Code.

“The suspect was remanded for seven days by the Kota Samarahan Magistrate’s Court, to help assist in the investigation,” he added. — DayakDaily
