KUCHING, Dec 19: An unemployed man was sentenced to a total of twenty years’ imprisonment and two strokes of the rotan for robbery.
Muhammad Nur Faizie Osman, 23, from Kampung Semariang Batu, pleaded guilty to two charges at two different Sessions Courts.
Judge Marutin Pagan sentenced the accused to imprisonment of ten years and two strokes of the rotan, for robbing a convenience store at Taman Sukma of 14 packs of cigarettes and RM180 cash at about 10.35am in November.
DPP Nadratun Naim Mohd Saidi prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented.
Meanwhile, Judge Dayang Ellyn Narisa Abang Ahmad sentenced the accused to imprisonment of ten years for robbing a convenience store at Metrocity of 13 boxes of cigarettes at about 10.09am in November.
