KUCHING, Aug 22: A man pleaded not guilty and claimed trial to a charge of raping a disabled teenager.
Sessions Court Judge Marutin Pagan released the accused on court bail with two local sureties, with one of the sureties with monthly income of not less than RM2,000.
The judge also fixed September 10 for pre-trial case management.
The accused was charged with raping an 18-year-old girl at a house located along Jalan Matang Baru, at about 8pm on August 6, 2019.
He was charged under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code, which carries an imprisonment term which may extend to twenty years and shall also be liable to whipping, upon conviction.
