SIBU, Jan 30: A 40-year-old man fell victim to a cryptocurrency investment scam, losing RM94,247 in the process, according to Sibu OCPD Assistant Commissioner Zulkipli Suhaili.

Zulkipli revealed today that the victim’s ordeal began on Aug 16, 2023, when he encountered an investment scheme by a group named Accerx on Facebook.

Upon checking his Accerx account, the victim discovered an accumulated profit of USD721,922.93 (RM3,407,476.22) between the specified period.

However, despite the reported profit, the victim was unable to withdraw the accumulated funds from the investment at the time of the report.
