BINTULU, March 4: A 43-year-old man died when the vehicle he was driving skidded off the road and slammed into a tree along Tanjong Kidurong Road here yesterday.
State Traffic and Enforcement Department chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the 43-year-old driver had been identified as Abu Bakar Yahya.
In a statement, Alexson said Abu Bakar was heading towards Bintulu town from Tanjong Kidurong in a Toyota Avanza when the tragedy struck, believed to be around 9.45pm.
Alexson said the weather then was clear and the road was dry.
The incident is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
