Man injured after group attack over motorcycle

The victim sustained injuries on his arm from the attack.

SIBU, Aug 24: A 22-year-old unemployed man suffered injuries after being attacked by a group of three men, after an argument over a motorcycle early this morning.

According to Sibu district police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit, the incident occurred at around 2.30am at Jalan Sungai Bakong, when the victim met up with a friend to pick up his father’s motorcycle that was borrowed earlier.

He said that initial investigation revealed that the victim had allowed the friend to use the motorcycle but when he wanted it back, he was attacked by the friend and two unknown assailants.

The victim claimed that the friend used a spanner to attack him, while the other two used their hands.

Police identified the suspect’s last known address at Jalan Abg Barieng, but he was not at home when officers came to pick him up for questioning.

The victim suffered blunt wounds at the back of his head, right arm and bruises on his forehead.

The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code. — DayakDaily
