KUCHING, Feb 24: A man was found dead after the wall of a storeroom collapsed on him at Jalan Tan Sri Ong Kee Hui here today.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) report, an emergency call was received at 10.08am, and firefighters from the Padungan station were deployed.
Upon arrival, the operations commander reported that the victim appeared to have been crushed by the building and was declared dead by Health Ministry personnel at the scene.
An updated report revealed that the victim was identified as David Chin Zek Hong, a 27-year-old local man.
“The collapsed building was a storeroom behind the victim’s house. The victim was said to have wanted to demolish the store, but the concrete wall of the store collapsed, crushing the victim,” said the updated report.
The victim’s body was removed from the rubble was handed over to the police for further action. — DayakDaily
