Man found dead in Sungai Ipoh, Pakan after missing for 2 days

PAKAN, Jan 2: A man was found dead after he failed to return home from hunting in the forest near Rumah Saban, Sungai Ipoh here last Sunday (Dec 31).

According to a report by the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the victim was identified as Luju Jugie, 49.

It was understood that the victim went out to hunt in the forest at 9am on Sunday (Dec 31) but had failed to return home.


This prompted his wife to lodge a police report this morning.

“Bomba activated a search and rescue (SAR) operation in a team of two where we followed the footprints and trails from the victim’s usual paths.

“The victim’s body was then found floating 2km away from his house at around 3pm,” the report said. — DayakDaily
