Man found dead in govt quarters in Miri

MIRI, May 14: A 32-year-old man was found dead on the kitchen floor of a government quarters in Bekenu at Jalan Kampung Dagang yesterday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Noorisman Tayuk.


A Subis district staff stumbled upon the remains of Noorisman at about 9am after tracing the source of a foul smell in one of the buildings.

The police were immediately alerted and the body taken to Miri Hospital for a post-mortem.

Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah, when contacted today, said, “There was no visible injury and there was no sign of forced entry.”

Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased had a history of hypertension. — DayakDaily
