Man found dead in drain near Pujut Padang Kerbau

The deceased was found floating in the drain.

KUCHING, July 17: A 40-year-old labourer was found dead in a drain near Kampung 1 Malaysia, Pujut Padang Kerbau, Miri on Friday (July 17).

The incident was reported at 1.15pm when a member of the public saw the deceased’s body floating in the drain. He was found with his helmet, shirt and jeans still on.


The deceased’s motorcycle was found not far from the scene, hidden inside the bushes in the same area.

The deceased’s body was taken to Miri General Hospital for postmortem and further investigation will be held.

According to Miri District Police Chief ACP Lim Meng Seah, the deceased’s mother told the police that the deceased had been robbed of his MyKad and wallet on July 14, 2020 and had received some injury after struggling with the robber.—DayakDaily
