Man fined RM2,800 for unregistered aphrodisiac products, selling drugs with poisonous content

KUCHING, Oct 29: An online business owner was fined a total of RM2,800 for possession and selling drugs with poisonous content and unregistered aphrodisiac related products.

Chan Ei How, 27, pleaded guilty to both charges before Sessions Court Judge Mohd Taufik Mohd Yusoff here today.


The court sentenced him to a fine of RM800 for the first charge and a fine of RM2,000 for the second charge.

Under the first charge, Chan was found to have possessed for sale four items, which contained poisons that are listed in the First Schedule of the Poisons Act 1952, at his rented unit in Jalan Chong Kiun Kong, around 2.30pm on Oct 11, 2018.

He was charged under Section 13(a) of the Poisons Act 1952 and punishable under Section 32(2) of the same Act, which carries a fine not exceeding RM3,000 or imprisonment not exceeding one year or both, upon conviction.

For the second charge, he was found to possess two unregistered products that contravened Regulation 7(1)(a) of the Control of Drugs and Cosmetics Regulation 1984.

He was charged under Regulation 30(1) of the same regulation and punishable under Section 12(1) of the Sale of Drugs Act 1952, which carries a fine not exceeding RM25,000 or imprisonment not exceeding three years, or both, upon conviction. — DayakDaily
