MIRI, Nov 23: A local man was detained by the police last night after 5,700 grammes of drugs believed to be methamphetamine was discovered in his Honda Jazz car.
It was believed that the seized items are worth around RM218,100.
Miri OCPD ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said, the suspect was detained by a narcotics team from Miri police during ‘Ops Tapis Khas SeMalaysia’ around 7pm at Jalan Kubu.
“Upon inspection, the police found five green packets containing the illegal substances,” Alexson said.
The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. — DayakDaily
