MIRI, Oct 22: A 57-year-old man was believed to have been crushed to death by a huge pipe near Vista Perdana’s sewage plant shortly before 10am today.
Ngau Wan Uyo, a Kayan, was believed to have gone to the area to check on his fishing traps when the tragedy occurred.

While he was at the site, a pipe measuring 3 feet by 40 feet somehow rolled down a slope and crushed him.
Ten firemen from Lopeng fire station rushed to the scene when the alarm was raised at 9.52am.
An excavator was brought in later to move the pipe aside to enable firemen to retrieve his body.
The remains of Ngau have been taken to Miri Hospital for a post-mortem. — DayakDaily
