SIBU, Jan 7: An unemployed man has been arrested for allegedly breaking into a 24-hour convenience store at Jalan Bandong and stealing RM380.
Sibu District Police Chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the arrest of the 20-year old suspect was made after a shop assistant lodged a police report.
“The 23-year old complainant said at about 4.30am on Jan 6, she was on duty and suddenly dozed off. Suddenly she heard a loud bang on the front sliding door,” he said.
ACP Stanley said a screengrab from the shop CCTV showed that the suspect entered the shop from the front door.
He then opened the drawer and ran off with the money.
” The complainant knows the suspect well as he used to go to the shop to reload his phone credit,” said ACP Stanley. – DayakDaily
