KUCHING, Dec 14: Police have arrested a male suspect in Betong, believed to be involved in an armed robbery in Bintulu.
According to a report from TVS, Bintulu police chief Supt Nixon Joshua Ali stated the suspect was arrested in a squatter area in Jalan Semukuk, Betong at about 2.15pm.
He also said that police seized clothing believed to have been worn by the suspect during the crime, along with several mobile phones.
The suspect, he added, will be remanded and investigated under Section 392/397 of the Penal Code.
“A check on the suspect’s criminal record revealed that he has three prior offences related to drug abuse,” he said.
On Dec 12, police issued a statement seeking information for the 31-year-old suspect linked to the armed robbery incident. — DayakDaily
