Malaysia to Host 13th Asian Aerosol Conference in 2024 from Nov 3-7

KUCHING, June 20: Over 500 participants are expected to attend the 13th Asian Aerosol Conference (AAC) 2024, which will be held for the first time in Malaysia from Nov 3 to 7, at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).

In a statement today, Deputy Minister of Energy and Environment Sustainability (MEESTY) Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni announced that the AAC 2024 is the largest aerosol conference in Asia.

He emphasised that the event is jointly organized by the Malaysian Clean Air Forum (MyCAS) and the Asian Aerosol Research Assembly (AARA) and that MEESTY is committed to ensuring the conference’s success.

Dr Hazland encouraged the participation of agencies under MEESTY, as well as local companies.

“This conference has also attracted exhibitors from the aerosol industry, including scientists, researchers, and policymakers in the fields of aerosol science and air pollutant control technology,” he said.

During a courtesy visit by a delegation from MyCAS, led by its president Ts Dr Noor Zaitun Yahaya to Dr Hazland at BCCK, the delegation expressed confidence that the conference will contribute to the transfer of the latest technology in aerosol science research, benefiting Asian countries, especially Malaysia.

Accompanying Dr Noor Zaitun Yahaya were her deputy, Professor Dr. Juliana Jalaludin, and five MyCAS Supreme Committee members from various universities: Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, Universiti Pertanian Malaysia, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi Mara Sarawak, Universiti Malaya, and Universiti Malaysia Sarawak.

Also present during the courtesy visit were representatives from government agencies under MEESTY, including Penny Sumok and Tsai Koh Fen from the Natural Resources and Environment Board, as well as Sarawak Energy Berhad representatives Marconi Madai and Ir Robin Tigai. — DayakDaily
