Malaysia shines at The Meetings Show London 2024: Sarawak, Sabah, KL highlighted as top destinations

KUCHING, June 21: The states of Sarawak and Sabah, as well as Kuala Lumpur, have emerged as popular destinations, praised for their strategic location, urban sophistication, and abundant biodiversity.

This recognition came to the forefront as Malaysia made a significant impact at The Meetings Show London 2024, held from June 19 to 20 at ExCeL London, United Kingdom.

According to a press release, the esteemed show provided an exceptional platform for Malaysia to spotlight its thriving business events industry and captivate the attention of international buyers and business event organisers alike.

“Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), alongside influential industry players proudly represented Malaysia at this distinguished participation under the Malaysian Pavilion.

“Their collective mission to position Malaysia as the ultimate destination in Asia, spotlight its unrivalled capabilities, state-of-the-art facilities, and culturally immersive experiences,” the release stated.

In the meantime, MyCEB chief executive officer (CEO) Azman Tambi Chik was quoted as saying: “The Meetings Show London 2024 has been an invaluable platform for us to showcase Malaysia’s prowess as a premier destination for business events.

“Our participation has not only enabled us to spotlight Malaysia’s unique offerings but also fostered international collaborations, propelling long-term growth and prosperity for our industry.”

The press release went on to say that MyCEB’s unwavering presence at The Meetings Show London since 2017 underscores its firm commitment to the global industry.

It stated that from 2017 to 2023, this dedication produced exceptional results, with a total of 6,625 delegates from various business event segments attending, resulting in an estimated economic impact of RM116 million.

“The show serves as a dynamic arena for Malaysian delegates to engage with a diverse spectrum of international business events stakeholders, highlighting Malaysia’s cutting-edge infrastructure, contemporary amenities, and unparalleled attractions.”

The Malaysian Pavilion offered visitors an immersive experience through tailored programs like the MyTripleE Campaign and Subvention and Support Programmes, showcasing Malaysia’s warm hospitality and seamless logistical capabilities.
