Malaysia sees 6 new Covid-19 cases today

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 5: Malaysia recorded six new positive cases of Covid-19 today.

The information was revealed by Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a press statement.


With the additional six cases, Dr Noor Hisham said the number of cumulative Covid-19 cases in Malaysia has increased to 9,391 cases.

“Out of the six new cases, two are local transmission while the remaining four are imported.

“For the imported cases, it involved two Malaysian citizens and two non-citizens.

“For the local transmission cases, it involves two Malaysian citizens.

“One from the Telaga cluster in Kedah and another from a Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) patient in Sabah,” he said.

For the imported cases, Dr Noor Hisham said they were from two Malaysians who returned from Angola and Pakistan respectively and two non Malaysians each from India and Bangladesh.

He said there were 21 patients who recovered and were discharged from the hospitals.

Dr Noor Hisham added that there were 150 active cases of Covid-19 in the country with five patients being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of health facilities and three patients on ventilators.

He said there were no new deaths reported while the death toll for Covid-19 in Malaysia remained at 128 persons.—DayakDaily
