Malaysia records 10 new positive Covid-19 today

KUCHING, June 27: Malaysia registered 10 new positive cases of Covid-19 with no fatality today.

The information was disclosed by Health director general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a press statement.


Dr Noor Hisham said out of the 10 new cases, four were imported while the remaining six were local transmission.

“From the six cases of local transmission, four cases involved Malaysians with one case in Selangor detected following a pre-operation swab test and three cases from swab test of tahfiz students in Kuala Lumpur.

“The other two cases of local transmission involved a foreigner who was charged and detained in Negeri Sembilan and a foreign worker working in University Malaysia Sabah (UMS) following a swab test,” he said.

For the four imported case, Dr Noor Hisham said one involved a Malaysian who returned from Cambodia while the other three cases involved an Indonesian, Turkish and Korean.

With additional 10 new cases, he asserted the total number of Covid-19 in Malaysia has increased to 8,616 cases.

He added that there were 14 patients who recovered and discharged from health facilities today making the total number of patients discharged due to Covid-19 in Malaysia to 8,308 cases.

He disclosed that there were 187 active cases of Covid-19 throughout the country with two patients being treated at the intensive care unit (ICU) of health facilities with none of them on ventilators. —DayakDaily
