According to a media release, the half-day event aims to provide a key platform for dialogue and collaboration on pressing issues shaping Sarawak’s future.

In addition to Sarawak oil and gas, e-Invoicing, and tax policy reforms, the discussions will extend to governance, Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (PETROS) and Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS), sustainable development, economic growth strategies, and aligning regional ambitions with national priorities.

Bringing together stakeholders from political, social, and economic spheres, the forum will allow participants to exchange views, debate critical topics, and gain insights into the challenges and opportunities facing Sarawak.

Sarawak legal advisor Dato Sri JC Fong, Yayasan Pemangkin legal advisor Yusuf Abdul Rahman, Royal Malaysian Customs Department former senior assistant director Noelle Lily Morse, Inland Revenue Board Sarawak Customer Services Section assistant director-general Miro Taut and Unimas deputy dean of Research and Commercialisation Professor Dr Evan Lau Poh Hock are among the speakers.

TSI chairman Datuk John Tenewi Nuek encouraged all stakeholders to join the forum for a robust discussion where diverse perspectives can inform the next steps in Sarawak’s journey toward a more prosperous and sustainable future.

“At TSI, we believe true progress can only be achieved through constructive dialogue and a shared commitment to the greater good of the people,” he said.

Resolutions and key takeaways from the forum will be compiled and presented to the government for consideration, ensuring Sarawak’s collective voice is represented in policy discourse.

“While politicians may have their agendas, it is crucial that we remain focused on the long-term well-being of our nation. This forum is an opportunity to forge a unified path forward and ensure that Sarawak’s progress remains a priority for all,” Tenewi added.

The Sarawak Initiatives (TSI) is a think tank dedicated to fostering social, economic, and political discourse in Sarawak and Malaysia.

Admission to the forum is free but limited; those interested are encouraged to contact Ms Linda at 019-876-7928 and confirm registration with the TSI Secretariat. — DayakDaily
