LONGi donates PPE to SGH frontliners, more to come

KUCHING, May 5: LONGi Green Energy Technology Co Ltd from China donated 3,200 pieces of personal protective equipment (PPE) to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) frontliners to support efforts to curb Covid-19 in the state.

The PPE comprised N95 face masks, medical coveralls, boot covers and medical goggles, at 800 pieces each.

The handover ceremony through LONGi (Kuching) Sdn Bhd to State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas took place at the former State Legislative Assembly Complex today.


“We wish to give our support to the Sarawak government’s effort to fight against Covid-19. The donation today is part of our previous and upcoming donation items for the same purpose.

“We take this opportunity to express our most sincere gratitude to the state government especially SDMC in executing prudent planning and decisions to protect the safety and wellbeing of all Sarawakians,” LONGi (Kuching) CEO Ngieng Sii Jing disclosed today.

Meanwhile, the company also donated seven Mindray Benefusion SP3 syringe pump units and five Mindray Benefusion VP3 infusion pump units which were delivered direct to SGH to faciliate testing and calibration by the hospital’s technical team.

On May 15, LONGi will deliver two Insight iS3 Video Laryngoscope units to SGH as well.

Earlier in March and April, LONGi had delivered 2,000 N95 face masks with carbon, 1,600 N95 face masks, 97 3M face shields, 700 proguard half-face filter masks, 20 3M half-face filter masks and four Mindray Patient Monitor UMEC12 units. — DayakDaily
