Lone female driver robbed on the way to Miri city

MIRI, Aug 1: A young woman who was driving alone along the Miri Coastal Road en route to the city, on Tuesday night (July 30) was robbed by several strangers.

The terrifying ordeal unfolded around 8pm when a four-wheel-drive (4WD) driven by unknown suspect(s) intercepted and blocked her car’s path.


According to sources, a man exited from the 4WD brandishing a sharp object, believed to be a machete.

The man walked towards the victim’s car and took her sling bag before fleeing the scene.

The victim was unharmed in the incident and later lodged a police report.

Amongst items stolen were the victim’s MyKad, bank cards and cash amounting at RM870.

As of press time, no arrests have made as the police are still investigating the case. — DayakDaily
