KUCHING, Jan 10: Lodge International School has recorded its strongest A-Level performance to date as its largest-ever cohort of 79 students sat for the Cambridge International AS Level examinations in October/November 2025, with 38 students, which is an impressive 48.1 per cent, achieving straight A*/A grades.
In a statement today, the school said the results reflect its continued commitment to academic rigour, student development and high-quality teaching, marking another milestone in the school’s A-Level programme.
STEM subjects proved particularly popular and successful, with students in the sciences posting strong outcomes. Straight As were achieved by 69.8 per cent of Biology students, 68.7 per cent in Chemistry and 61.4 per cent in Physics.
Mathematics results were equally encouraging, with 87.5 per cent of Mathematics (A-Level) students securing A*/As, while 68.4 per cent achieved As. In Further Mathematics, 64.7 per cent of students attained As.
In the Humanities, at least one-third of candidates in each subject achieved A*/As, including 30 per cent in Business, 41.2 per cent in Economics, 33.3 per cent in English Language, a full 100 per cent in Geography and 68.4 per cent in Psychology. Students also delivered commendable results in History.
Director Su Hiong Ai attributed the strong performance to the collective effort of the school community.
“We extend our sincere congratulations to the students and teachers, whose expertise and commitment have played a vital role in supporting our students’ success. We also thank the parents for their continued support,” he said.
Principal Markus Gatuman said the results underscore the school’s focus on both excellence and wellbeing.
“We are immensely proud of our students’ outstanding achievements and strong dedication to their studies. We strive to provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment as they continue their journey towards excellence in the A-Level programme,” he said.
Deputy principal of A-Levels Grace Chung highlighted the school’s holistic approach to education.
“The Lodge International School A-Level programme focuses on holistic development, and we are proud of our students’ academic excellence. They balance strong academic performance with leadership roles, club involvement and work internship opportunities. Our self-directed approach empowers students to take ownership of their learning while receiving the support they need,” she said.
