KUCHING, Aug 12: Lodge International School’s 2025 A-Level cohort has delivered another year of outstanding academic achievement in the Cambridge A-Levels examination, with 18 students, representing 44 per cent of the class, earning straight A*/As.

Among these top achievers, six students secured straight A*, with standout performer Jho Kyungha attaining an impressive five straight As. Five other students achieved four A*s each.

The results are especially remarkable given that Lodge’s A-Level programme is accelerated, with many students taking more than the usual three subjects while excelling in extracurricular activities.

“These achievements reflect our students’ grit and resilience, and showcase the collaborative learning culture at Lodge,” principal Markus Gatuman said in a statement today.

In the Sciences and Mathematics, over half of the students achieved top grades: Physics (66.7 per cent), Chemistry (63.9 per cent), and Biology (55 per cent) all recorded A*/A rates above 50 per cent.

Further Mathematics, a highly specialised subject, saw 66.7 per cent of students scoring A*/As, while Mathematics achieved 56.4 per cent.

In the Humanities, English Language students excelled with 50 per cent attaining A*/As. Business and Psychology each saw 25 per cent of students reach the top grades, while Economics and History students achieved a solid 100 per cent pass rate.

Congratulating the class of 2025 for their excellent results, Markus affirmed Lodge’s commitment to providing a safe space where students can get the support they need in all aspects.

“Once a Lodgian, always a Lodgian, and we are sure you will excel in the next step of your journey,” he added.

Deputy principal of A-Levels Grace Chung attributed the school’s excellent academic record to the commitment and dedication of teachers and students.

“Despite the challenges, we work hand in hand to achieve the best results and constantly seek ways to help our students grow holistically. Well done everyone, we are very proud of you!”

Lodge International graduates have gone on to top universities including Cambridge, the University of Hong Kong, the University of Manchester, and the University of Bristol.

The school’s holistic approach encourages involvement in extracurricular activities such as the globally recognised International Award programme and provides students with access to an extensive alumni network offering internship opportunities across diverse industries, from law to multimedia.

Meanwhile, an A-Level Information Session will be held on Aug 23 (Saturday) from 2pm to 4pm at Lodge International School.
